Second visit much better than the first. Took my man here for his birthday. Our server Wendy was so pleasant! Loved her. I ordered the double crab cake, Caesar salad, lychee martini. He ordered lobster bisque and 10 oz filet mignon. Everything was superb! We shared the butter cake for dessert which was amazing. I want to go back just to order that It was a nice touch that the Ruxton had a birthday card on the table upon our arrival. They also brought out some funfetti cake with a candle in it. That was a nice touch. Sucks that the speak easy was closed for a private event. Maybe next time. I sat in the main dining room this time which was beautiful. I loved the music they played too (90s/2000s r&b). I hope I didn't disturb my food neighbors with my singing :-)

Not even sure where to begin... the Ruxton was fantastic. From start to finish our experience here was first class... we ordered a wide variety of appetizers and each was well composed and super tasty. The tuna tartare and grilled oysters were the crowd favorites but I really enjoyed the unique take on tater tots which were topped with a crème sauce and caviar. They were excellent! I ended up ordering the 8oz rib cap steak and topped it with king crab. I have to say it was one of the best steaks I have eaten. This cut is like a filet and ribeye had a baby... super tender like a filet but super moist and fatty like a ribeye. Just great! All of the sides were good and our service was top notch all night. It's pricey but you get what you pay for and it's worth every penny! Will def only be coming back here next time I am in Baltimore.

The service here was beyond amazing. The great service we received for a large party celebrating a birthday , was really the highlight of the night! The restaurant is beautiful. It's very cozy and dimly lit. It's perfect for a date, a celebration, or just dinner. The food, although expensive, was also pretty good. I was not in love with everything I had, but I wasn't disappointed. The chicken entree was not described well, so I wasn't expecting a crispy chicken dish. It was just okay, and the greens were very vinegary---but not bad. The mac and cheese, broccoli, and loaded potato were the highlights of the side orders we had. Good things were said about the sea bass, risotto, and lamb chop entrees. I'm in love with complimentary bread in general, and it was delicious here. I was able to get it covered in regular butter versus the beef butter. We celebrated a birthday and the complimentary birthday dessert was a nice touch. I left stuffed, but a few people got the butter cake dessert to-go and said it was really good. I'll return to sit at the bar in the future. **dress code seems stricter than what it is. There is a lot of wiggle room for options staying within the code**

We chose The Ruxton for our Ladies' night out this year while I was in town visiting family in Baltimore. I made reservations for our party of 4, far in advance. Valet parking is available in front of the restaurant, and there is a garage next to the restaurant to self park on floors 5 and above for an hourly fee. With validation from the restaurant, valet parking is $15. My party was seated immediately by the friendly hostess. The ambiance was upscale with a sophisticated vibe. On the night we dined it was crowded and there was little room between each table. There is a dress code of business casual. Most patrons were dressed very well and some were a tad more casual than I would have expected wearing baseball caps. We ordered drinks , all of my friends ordered the Stiletto and enjoyed it. I ordered a French 75 and it was not well crafted. For our entrées, two of us ordered the Crab cakes , they were ok, tasted fresh, little filling and were prepared adequately. For my sides I substituted the fries for roasted broccoli which they charged an extra $5 . The pickled slaw which was included with my meal was very good and paired well with the crab cakes. One friend had the 6oz filet mignon, it was tiny and looked even smaller on the large plate it was placed on. She said the steak and her accompaniments were delicious. The Seared jail island Salmon is what the other member of my group had and she enjoyed her meal as well. We ended our visit with the Warm butter cake which we shared. The cake was moist and the presentation was lovely. After dinner we headed over to the speakeasy for more drinks and jazz, I would definitely recommend checking the speakeasy out the drinks in my opinion were better. Overall, the experience was nice. Service was stellar, the food and drinks were decent. The price point was based on the experience only. If you are celebrating something or trying to impress someone, this would be a nice restaurant to dine at.

This place is the total package. I visited this gorge place twice recently, and it's been a fantastic experience each time. This restaurant is very easy to locate, beautiful entryway, bar, and dining area. Convenient valet parking option. The best of the best folks work here. Everyone is so respectable, kind, and willing to assist. 9'15'2024 Birthday Dinner My gf and I visited and were assisted by Patrick and Brian. They were absolutely amazing w menu item descriptions, and checking on us at the perfect time. Our table was visited by Roy (manager) who was very pleasant. He checked on us to make sure all was well. Boy was he wrong. All was GREAT!! Collectively, we ordered. Cresent Farms Duck Breast: Cooked amazing. Perfect portion size, and well plated. Chicken Fried Maine Lobster Tails: Delicious flavoring, well plated, and plentiful. Amazing taste. Grilled Asparagus: Pretty good. Tasty. Truffles Hasselback Potato: Ahhhmazing !! Sooo good. Sliced perfectly for easy cutting, and devouring. A must try. The table bread was the best I've ever tasted. It was so soft, easy to slice, and warm. Absolutely delicious. 10'4'2024 Celebratory Dinner for Hubby My husband has met a few Career goals recently, and I wanted to spoil him a little. I surprised him w a visit here, and he was elated. We received magnificent service by Taylor and Stephanie. They both had great personalities. We ordered the following. Butternut Lobster Bisque: Perfecto. Amazing presentation, and taste. Chicken Fried Lobster Tails: Tasty, plentiful. 10oz Filet Mignon: Perfectly seasoned, and cooked. The mushroom sauce provided was a great flavorful addition. Grilled Asparagus: Well cooked. Truffled Hasselback Potato: Impressive portion size. Overall, these two experiences are 12/10 regarding customer service. That includes the kind young men at valet. Very pleasant, respectful, and careful w vehicles. I must admit, my food experience went from outstanding, to above average between the 2 visits. 8/10 The table bread wasn't as fresh as 1st visit. My Lobster Tails were oily on 2nd visit, Hasselback Potato was overcooked, and not sliced. It was just a big ole baked potato. The differences weren't enough to keep me away, but highly noticeable. Impeccable customer service will bring me back for another time to see which experience will be most consistent. Overall, this place is a neighborhood gem. I look forward to trying a few other entrées in the near future.

I've gone to various high-end resturants and yet, The Ruxton was unlike anything else I've experienced. Each item I had on the menu was simply divine, especially the lobster, and the visual aesthetic was incredibly classy yet cozy thanks to the artwork, lighting, and furniture. And most of all, the service was some of the best I've ever had at a resturant. Last saturday when I went, a wonderful server named Bria was incredible. She was polite, very approachable, funny, and also very helpful whenever I had any questions about the menu or about the establishment. It was a most memorable experience and I do plan to visit again when I get the chance!
